Tips on Using the Library Page

The Genesis Forum Academy Library page is an index of resource links that is updated on a regular basis with new material frequently added.  In keeping with the purpose of the Academy, the page is meant primarily for the high school-aged student as a research/resource tool.  Those interested in the Creation/Evolution discussion from a recent-age perspective will also appreciate its expansive archive of easily accessible information.

1. There are six sections that make up the Library page, all included on the one scrolling screen.  By using the Table of Contents at the top of the page you can instantly go to each section.  It is suggested that you navigate the page in this fashion as it is rather lengthy.  There are “back to the top” links at the end of the sections to assist in more easily navigating around the page.

2. There are supplemental pages that are included in the “Open Dialogue” and “Online Libraries” sections.  By clicking on links as indicated, you will be directed to those pages.

3. The Search Engine feature is set to search only selected sites that are linked on the Library page.  Simply use the Search box at the top of the page as you would use any search engine, but realize that by design and for practical ease of use, this engine is not designed to search the entire Web.

4. To search on the Library page itself, it is best to use the “Edit/Find on this page. . .” feature of your browser’s main menu since a key word (i.e., “Flood”) may appear in several different items on the page.  By entering the term Flood into the “Find” box that your browser provides, each use of the term will be highlighted, enhancing search functionality.  (Note: Although a search "This Page Only" button is provided, it is dependent on crawling technology which often overlooks pertinent information.)

5. When you select a link in the Library page your browser will always open a new window.  Opening new windows allows you to more easily navigate in your browser without overlapping the Library page so that it remains your main reference point for easy return.

6. Items in the TOPICS section are categorized alphabetically by heading with indented links, and sub links which are indented further.  The linked titles for each item are not alphabetized.

7. The Library page contains some powerful and compelling information links.  Most of these are brief articles, while many are more in-depth studies.  There are also audio and video media which are included.  You are encouraged to explore the page at your leisure so that you might become comfortable in using this valuable resource.

8. If you know of items that we might consider including on the page, please send the links to us by using the Contacts page link.  Similarly, if you have any problems, concerns, or suggestions related to the Library page, please forward these to us as well.
